Radiology has always been the most technologically driven medical specialty. The spread of internet and advanced digital technology — images available any time, anywhere - has allowed for ”real time” collaboration not only between radiologists and clinical specialists but also between radiologists themselves. This has resulted in many innovations including medical outsourcing TO developing countries with cheaper manpower costs.

Medicexchange, a medical imaging portal provides radiology professionals access to the latest in radiological imaging products, and research. It is primarily focused in the radiological sub-specialties of Abdominal-Pelvic, Breast, Cardiac, Neuro, Musculoskeletal, and Thoracic imaging.

Medicexchange website looks clean, professional and relatively simple to navigate. Registration is free and would be recommended for interested users as registered members can download the featured software for free on a trial basis. This feature is useful as the cost of the actual software is relatively high, and hence a free trail version would allow potential buyers to evaluate the software before they make the final decision.

The product section includes softwares related to radiology software, medical software, medical billing software and medical imaging software. They have been professionally classified with relevant information, and as mentioned above the trial version can be downloaded for free. There is a separate support section available for help with the software and site navigation.

The news section features the latest from the world of radiology and is a useful tool for researchers. This section has its own RSS feed, and thus there is no need to come to the site just to catch up with the news.

In keeping with the website’s focus areas, the site also has devoted communities to different sub-specialties. These communities feature the news and research related to that particular sub-specialty. This is a very useful feature as someone interested in a particular branch of radiology can follow the news which interests him without being overwhelmed.

The site also features a forum. Registered members can post and discuss the latest news, research and clinical questions. Medicexchange promises one forum entry 100$ to be chosen via a lucky draw every month. Despite this, the forum is underutilized. To initiate discussion, the company should promote the forum more aggressively and utilize its own staff instead of relying only on user driven content. Also, a company blog would be an useful addition to the site. In future, perhaps this can be expanded to allow members to host their own blogs on the company website. This would not only enrich the site but also build a radiology community.

In conclusion, it is an excellent site for radiology professionals.
